NQTs for Secondary Schools

The Teacher Recruitment Team works collaboratively with our Secondary schools and operates a Database of Secondary level NQT candidates interested in working within the borough.

Hounslow has built a solid reputation for the quality of support, advice and training offered to those starting their teaching careers, central to this being our Induction Programme . OFSTED praised Hounslow for its monitoring, support and assessment of NQTs and we continue to improve our NQT provision.

Once you have completed your application to the Database your details will be made available to our recruitment contacts in our 14 Secondary schools, who will then contact you directly if they have vacancies in your subject specialism.

How To Apply

The NQT Secondary Database 2008- 2009 has now opened for application for appointment for September 2009.

If you have completed an application form manually and submitted it to the Teacher Recruitment Team, you will receive an email confirmation shortly when your details have been added to our online database.

Closing Date: Althought we have a formal closing date of 1st June 2009, schools will begin to request applicant's details from as early as December 2008 as they plan their recruitment for the following year. Therefore we encourage all applicants to apply as soon as possible.

Please note : Overseas Trained Teachers or Unqualifed Teachers with previous teaching experience are not eligible for the Database. Application is only for those candidates who have completed/are completing an ITT course leading to UK QTS and have not yet started their Induction Year.
