Deputy Head and Assistant Head Networking meetings (Primary)
These are twilight meetings that take place once a term. The agenda consists of briefing items concerning recent national and local developments and regular primary curriculum updates. Relevant items from the borough Primary Headteacher meetings are also included. These sessions also provide an opportunity for networking between Deputy Headteachers, chance to learn about other opportunities open to senior leaders and share good practice.
Deputy Head and Assistant Head Networking meetings (Secondary)
There are 3 networks for Secondary DHTs/AHTs that support a diverse number of roles. The Hounslow Education Improvement Partnership, in which schools work collaboratively with the LA towards shared goals, run these. Networks are chaired by members of the group and facilitated by LA Advisers. The networks support strategic leadership of 14-19, Behavior and Attendance and Data. They meet half termly during the school day, with the support of Headteachers.
Deputy Assistant Headteacher Seminars
These sessions, for both Primary and Secondary, tend to be participatory and developmental and are varied in content. Dates are published in advance but to keep them topical and content is only arranged once a term. In recent sessions groups have visited exemplary schools, explored the role of the educational psychologists, explored creativity, emotional intelligence and action research. Issues such as Child Protection are also closely covered.
More information can be gathered from speaking to Hounslow’s CPD team or LA Advisers.
