The CPD Framework
The Framework outlines CPD (Continuing Professional Development) opportunities available to Hounslow school staff and governors within and outside the Borough. Its provision is intended to support the recruitment and retention of individuals of high quality at all levels within schools.

The Hounslow Guarantee
The Hounslow Guarantee is an integral part of the borough's Continuing Professional Development Strategy. It is a commitment, with the aid of other partners, to support the professional development of all education staff and governors comprehensively and appropriately. It aims to support Hounslow school staff and governors in providing high quality, inclusive, education in their schools.
Hounslow's guarantee also aims to support the recruitment and retention of high quality staff to the borough. It does this by providing a wide range of continuing professional development activities that support the individual's aspirations, career progression and improved practice. Where appropriate these meet the individual's statutory rights, for example through NQT induction.
The Guarantee not only provides access to a wide range of high quality courses and meetings but also includes the work of AST's, lead teachers, lead departments and lead teaching assistants. It is further supported by information about best practice in our schools including the "specialist colleges", "training schools" and those with "leading edge" status.

Training and Development Opportunities
Hounslow offers a range of courses for its teaching staff covering areas such as Behaviour Management, SafeGuarding, ICT use and EAL. These are also a number of local opportunites available in conjunction with the local Universities and Colleges. All courses are tailored to specific needs from NQT Induction through to Headteacher Support. The CS&LL CPD team will be able to advise staff on the current courses and those which are most suitable for individuals.

Hounslow Education Centre (HEC)
Hounslow Education Centre (HEC) provides professional support and in-service training for teachers, support staff and other users. It is run by Hounslow Council's Children's Services & Lifelong Learning Department and is the principal venue for Hounslow's extensive range of courses. A number of Teaching Support Services are also located at the Centre.
